One of the biggest things that really grinds my gears is when people are completely complacent and ignorant about the world that they live in. I don’t expect people to be active creators of change necessarily, but when people aren’t aware of the simplest events and processes that occur in the world in which they live it really…well it just downright bugs me.
I truly believe that as world citizens, especially ones living in such privileged countries as Canada, we all have the responsibility to take interest and learn about our surroundings and the world at large. Read a newspaper once in a while, ya know?
We can’t all be pioneers like Steve Jobs, or social activists of the Julian Assange magnitude, but just learn a little and care a little more, k?
The minute that you understand that you can poke life and actually something will pop out the other side, that you can change it, you can mold it. That’s maybe the most important thing.
It’s to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you’re just gonna live in it, versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it. I think that’s very important and however you learn that, once you learn it, you’ll want to change life and make it better, cause it’s kind of messed up, in a lot of ways. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.
