Smoke at track level

If you live in Toronto you probably take the subway, at least on occassion.  If you take the subway, you have most likely sat on a stalled train due to a mysterious “report of smoke at track level at (insert station name here)”.  I definitely have and have always been curious about what this mysterious smoke is all about.  Well apparently it is caused by newspapers that get swept onto the tracks!  Hmmm…  Has anyone ever heard of this happening anywhere else in the world with a subway system?!  C’mon TTC!

Read the full National Post article called “Five Things We Learned About the TTC” here.  Apparently….wait for it…TTC users aren’t happy.  What a revelation.

Apparently this little guy caused 27 hours of delays in the TTC subway system last year. Tsk. Tsk.
